Can you believe this guy?
I ordered a Street/Strip 700R4 tranny and torque converter from Pro-Built Automatics. Dana, answered all my questions, and was always available when I called. I called him numerous times.
Not only that, but when a shop in my area installed the transmission and it didn't seem to be working correctly, Dana sent up a new valve body and spoke to the mechanic at the shop in my area. Once it was determined that the problem wasn't the valve body or a few other things, my shop up here said it had to be something else wrong with the tranny. Well Dana from Pro-Built decided to personally drive 6 hours up to northern California with another transmission and hand deliver it to the shop. I have never seen that kind of customer service in my life. He always seemed to be working for me, to try to solve the problem I was having with my car.
Turned out the new 700R4 tranny was fine all along, it was the shop up here who didn't know what they were doing, and couldn't adjust the TV cable correctly.
I give my highest recommendation to Pro-Built Automatics.

I was 99% on buying one from Pro-Built instead of bowtie....
Now i'm 150% sure. Thanks for the story...
Now if he would drive 2 days to get to North Carolina that would be even better

yup....Dana is the man, I had the same great customer svc. and this trans (Street/stip 700R4) is sweet. I managed to leave my TV cable hooked up when I dropped my old trans and busted it (the cable) but instead of having to get one from GM (like $40), he gave me an extra he had in perfect shape...no extra charge, little things like that mean everything! Give him your business.!

It is great to hear that there are still people like him left in the world selling Hi Perf. auto parts! It is usually a cut throat buisiness and you dont hear about people ever going out of their way for you after the sale.
Enjoy your new Trans..

Dana, get your butt in here and take a bow man!!!
He is an absolute stand up guy!! I just got my trans in my 92 Z and I have bothered the hell out of him with questions (to assure im getting a good trans), phone calls, etc etc. Instead of hanging up on my face LOL he GENUINELY answered my Q's.
I havent "romped" on the tranny yet, but it feels real good. I also got a ACT converter from him with a perfect stall for my combo.
BTW: LOL, the "special fluid"......gotta love it. I actually, found out what it is. Nice.

I've always wondered what it is but never bothered to ask...but it seems like engine oil mixed with tranny fluid.

LOL....can't tell ya
BTW: I have had the 2nd "weird experience" with some difficulty related to this "fluid".
My trans did not and is not shifting until it warms up to regular operating temp due to this.
I spoke to Dana and he says this has happened to him one other time in 6 years....and it was on a Ford unit.
Anyway, it is a simple fix...just change the fluid w/ regular "good" ATF.
Im gonna do that tonight

Sounds like some exceptional customer service. Have to look into them when my tranny goes out (yes seems more like "when" rather than "if" sometimes)
