What dealer is the least expensive on F.A.S.T. DFI?
And what would the price be for a bank to bank setup with ECU, wiring harness for a TPI V8, Ccom software, laptop to ECU cable, and wide band o2 sensor? I know it's asking alot, but saving money is worth digging arround!
Thanks,
Mike (1bad91Z)

Phone up fast and ask for the number to wheel to wheel performance.
They will be helping me save a couple bucks with my set up and they know their stuff. They can even send you a disk your aplication.

It'd be MUCH cheaper to run a 7730 ECM and burn some chips. Not trying to be rude or anything, but why do you need F.A.S.T System? The mods listed in your sig dont really show anything drastic that needs to be compensated for with an aftermarket EFI system. Maybe I'm missing something?

To Scott_92RS -
First, what is a 7730 ECM? Second, I do not have the equipment nor the know how to burn my own PROM chips. Are you saying that you dont feel that I will recieve a nice gain in power and enhanced drivabilty by using a DFI setup? Do you think a custom chip (without the car being on a scan-tool and the chip being reprogramed) will be able to squeeze the most out of my combination? I will be running a custom chip (Ed wright) for now until I get funds for the DFI project, unless I'm convinced otherwise.
I believe that I would get a nice gain in performance and drivability with the FAST system. I along with Conley's performance (the Turbo Buick Guys), are expecting 30-50 more ponies to the ground over a custom chip that the numbers have to guessed at to program. The Ccom software is very easy to tune. Plus, I can change programs on the fly (performance program to fuel economy program). But I dont have to tell you guys all the benefits as I'm sure you guys already know all the nice features that a DFI setup will render.
Thanks for the info on vendors you guys! Please keep them coming. I'll post the cheapest price and the dealer to get that price from soon.

Well, I'm just trying to save you a couple thousand dollars. The scan tools are free, you can build the cable for next to nothing, and the cost of teh software and equipment to burn your own chips is only aruond $200, I was actually going to use the FAST system at first, but I realized that it was pretty much a waste of money that could be better spent elsewhere at the current time. Even an Ed Wright chip wont be able to do everything possible to make your car run its best. It will require a lot of trial and error tuning, and lots of help from the guys over in the DIY PROM board. You may want to inqure over there about what you need from your EFI setup. The guys over there are VERY smart. The 7730 ECM is the ECM that is in the Speed Density TPI Cars. I believe the whole part # is 1227730.

Scott92_RS - Do I know you or do you know Brandon (ScreaminDemon305)? I'm occasionally by Lexington woods (old town spring), do you live anywhere near there? What all do you have done to your car?

Yea man, I know him. I've talked with him a couple times. Maybe we should get together and hang out at the car show this weekend? I know another thirdgenner that would possibly want to go (Sonar_un). Right now, my car is pretty much stock, but my 406 is awaiting completion The Stealth Ram is supposed to come today, and after the intake is on, there's not much else I'll have to do before I'll be ready to drop it in.

The car show at Kyrkendahl, or Coney out in Humble? Unfortunatley I'm still waiting on a couple of parts that are back ordered, so I wont be able to start the damn car until the end of this month, maybe a little sooner if I'm lucky! But yea, I'll have it at the shows once it's running.

Ibad91Z, I had the same question as you a while back regarding the fast DFI setup. Currently, I am burning my own chips, however, I have MAF and will probably be switching over to SD. Anyway, where abouts are you in the Houston area, I live in Houston as well. Drop me an e-mail if you'd like.

Neil, I live in the Tomball area. Where abouts are you? We need to hook up, I need help with the PROM until I have the dough for the FAST bank to bank setup. Is your car running? If so maybe you could bring it buy and check out the Z, if you want. I'm wrapping up loose ends on it right now and should have it running by the end of next week. Do you have a scan tool or any software to monitor how it's running? If you do, we can all see how good or bad Ed Wright's chips are! Let me know!

Well, CHRISMAN2000, I have never had my car dyno'd so I am not sure what my actual HP is. However, according to the desktop dyno I am around 480HP. Now, whether or not that is true, that remains to be seen, but I have raced C5 vettes, and LS1 camaro SS's and have beaten them fairly easily. Hopefully in the next couple of weeks I will make it to the track and then I can give you some ET's.
Mike (1bad91Z),
Sure man, that would be cool and yes, I have the Diacom scan tool so we can see what Ed's chip is doing for you. What is your e-mail? I live in the medical center and pretty much anytime after this weekend, I will be free.

If you guys dont mind, I'd love to come check it out too. I'll need to know how to tune my car soon (engine is nearing completion), and I have no clue how to do it right now, lol. Let me know when & where you guys meet, and I'll see if I can show up.

Damn, are you doing all this at once? On my to-do list I have a roll cage and tubular-K as well. However, I will probably wait until Jan-Feb to get going on that project. When I put the cage in, I also would like to restore the car, but first I want to drive the crap out of it.

To Neil and Scott - that would be cool! Do you want to wait until after I get the car running or just hook up before? I "should" have it running arround 2 weeks from now. Let me know! I did the project backwards of you guys, I did the restoration first, then the motor/tranny swap!

Mike,
Next week or next weekend sounds good! Oh, next week I will be installing my new torque arm. I bought it from Racenet (formerly Internet Racers' Supply) and it is SOLID, adjustable and all!
Later,
Neil

Next weekend would be cool, I could possibly have the car running by then! Nice torque arm, I will probably be going with the random tech super bite kit. E-mail me your numbers and I'll give you guys a shout next Friday. I will know by then if I can crank the beast up!

Neil and Scott - got some bad news! I wont recieve the remainder of the parts until the 28th or the 30th!!
So it looks like next weekend will have to wait till the weekend after the 28th.
I'm so sick of waiting for back-ordered parts!
Oh well, I give you guys a shout when they come in.
