Auburn Pro Differential, and Moser Gears

Do any of you guys use this diff. What do you think about it? I am considering purchasing a 4th gen rear for my camaro and it has the Auburn Pro diff, and Moser 3.73 gears. The guy said it does whine a little, but from what he says it's not that bad. Does that sound like a problem or do some gears just make a little noise? One last thing it has an aluminum cover with bearing support bolts, what does that do?

Thanks

I have an Auburn diff and for the most part it has done it's job, but if I had it to do all over again I would have went with a detroit locker. As for the gears whining, gears installed correctly shouldn't howl or whine. I had a howl in my previous rearend, and about 6 months later i broke two teeth off of the pinion gear. Howling sends hormonic vibrations through the gears and diff which will eventually make them brittle.

Well, some rears I have seen setup had a whine. Actually, my rear right now whines . It's been doing it all year without any problem. The only rear that didn't whine on me was the stock one that I miss so badly.

That's exactly what I was thinking.

I have heard that Richmonds always make a whine no matter how you set them up. So Moser gears making a little whine doesn't really bother me.
