Edelbrock Strut tower brace....doesn't fit!!!!
I have a 91 GTA with the 305 engine. I ordered one of the Edelbrock STBs and spent all this time drilling holes and lining everything up, then when I finally got the STB in and went to shut the hood, I couldn't. It sat too high.
It has nothing to do with the insulation on the hood. Even if I rest the bar on top of my throttle body, I still cant shut the hood, so i know it is not an incorrect placement on my part.
Has anyone else had problems with these braces not fiting?

check in the suspension section, somebody else with a edelbrock and a GTA had problems. Mine fit fine on a Z-28. Good luck.

Mine fit OK on my 85 TPI engine. I need to adjust it so it doesn't rub too hard on the hood insulation, but my hood closes fine.

I have an 88 formula without the hood insulation and it rubs on the hood bracing a little bit. (Shiny metal)

I have one on my carb engine. Don't know how similar they are, but it won't work too well upside-down. That's how I first tried to fit it because the decal had beem stuch on the wrong side. (I emailed Edelbrock and they sent me a whole pile of different size decals. If I put them all on, I should be able to go 200 mph! )
