Hypertech ThermoMaster??????

My buddy got a 160 thermostat(which i think is to cold myself for the cat, i maybe wrong)and a fan switch. he also got this hypertech thermomaster prom thats supposed to work with the thermostat and switch, its supposed to change converter lockup, when it goes into closed loop and some other stuff, has anyone used this? is the 160 thermostat to cold for a car with a cat? Do they make a 180 thermostat and switch? Which would be better. He does run 92 octane in it if that makes a difference.

The hypertech chips are a waste of time and I speak from personal experience as i have the same setup as your friend. Once I made some modifications to the intake and exhaust flows the car immediately started running lean on the chip.
I went back to the stock one because its actually richer and I really didnt notice any difference in power with the Hypertech chip anyway.
I do have a 160 stat and corresponding low temp fan switch which I kept because i think cooler is better no matter what chip you run EXCEPT if you have to pass emissions which I dont.
