I have the red top, but if I had any stereo equipment beyond stock (I don't even turn my radio on in the IROC), I would have went with the yellow.

I forgot to mention that i have both in front of me. they priced the yellow top as a red top. Thats why I'm trying to find out if there is anything negative about using it. Both the Redtop 75/35 and the Yellowtop
D3478950 state CCA of 650 on label. I did a double take when i read them but the guy at ATV tested and it was right. I put the yellow top in my car and it started right away. now I just need to know if anyones else has had long term success with a stand alone yellow top.

yellow is more powerful, as far as starting your car it had nothing to do with yellow or red........... yellow supplys more overall power for certain things, hense the reason it's the top choice in stereo competitions.
the red top is a very good battery that if taken care of should outlast it's warranty which is at least twice that of a yellow top. in essence you don't buy a yellow top for durability or longivity...you buy it because your accessories demand the extra power, but you accept the fact that it won't last as long.

those are so under rated!!!!!!! I had mine tested for CAs and it did 1100!!! Optima under rates them for some reason.

I have the yellow top, mainly because i got it for free, but I love it, and I have never had any problems with it. I will definately buy this battery again when needed.
