Which throttle body to get?
I need a new 58mm TB for my 383 build and want to know pros and cons of the after market TB's out there.
I really like the Holley billet one. What experiences have you folks had with BBK, Holley etc. ?

I have the BBK 58mm TB and didn't have any real problems with it. The screws that came with it to re-attach the IAC bottom cover plate weren't the right size, so I re-used the stock screws. I can't see paying the extra dough for the Holley TB unless you have money to burn or like the way it looks.

Well my stock TB got sticky when N2O was used. I thought the billet material would last longer then the the cast would.
The Holley only cost about $30 more.

I like my BBK. Can't beat it for $309. Just get an old Summit and use the old part#. It saves 20-30 bucks.

I found a great deal on one. It's only a 52mm though. Go to TPIS.com. They are selling one in their garage sale for $150. I think it includes an airfoil too. My motor is basically stock though so I really don't need it. Just thought I'd pass it on.

I'll will however take a used 58. With tthe price of the Super Ram going up I need to be frugal.

I would go with the Holley. I have installd a few BBK's, and theyre nice, but the Holley is highly polished, and seems to be of a higher quality. Even though theyre more expensive, you get what ya pay for.

Just be sure you get the right one. The one from Holley that they sell for 89 and yp, did not work on my 91. ICA air is different. I have a Holley 52mm for sale, never used because of the difference. I will sell it for $280 plus shipping.
