Dirty Dingo Sanden SD7 compressor brackets
I just finished installing the Dirty Dingo low mount LS Sanden SD7 compressor kit. I wanted to let the TGO group know what a great kit this is. There is so much more room compared to the stock LS2 compressor. The kit comes complete with all of the fasteners and the brackets fit perfectly and the compressor bolted in easily with no problems or modifications. I bought this kit because I am using a Vintage Air Magnum IV system and VA does not recommend using the GTO compressor and will not warrant the system if it is used. The entire AC system is new, so I chose to use a new Sanden compressor. I would recommend this kit to anyone considering a similar system.

From below
From above
There isn’t much to see from above, the compressor is located much tighter to the engine.

ok, just went back and saw those other threads... WOW
very nice!
did you put the original dash back in? any fitment issues with the magnum IV? I was thinking going smaller....
thanks for the insight, great build

Re: Dirty Dingo Sanden SD7 compressor brackets
I did use the original dash and it fits great, but the original vent plenum was extensively modified to work with the VA system. The Vintage Air unit is smaller than the original AC system, but you have to get creative when mounting it to the firewall. I smoothed the firewall on the engine side and I did not want bolts showing on that side.

I was looking at the mini or compact, good to know there's options. on the compressor, any chance it would clear the stock k-member. ill be on hooker motor mounts...
thanks again.

Re: Dirty Dingo Sanden SD7 compressor brackets
I can't speculate about the compressor clearing the factory K-member, but I do know that I gained an additional 2" of clearance in relation to the frame rail. The SD7 (mini) compressor mounts low at the stock LS2 location, whereas the SD508 mounts high on the passenger side. The motor mounts should not make a difference since the compressor mounts forward of it.
