GM PN 14089936 Relays
Anybody know where one can get the GM PN 14089936 relays without the "Made in China" stamped in white on them ? I realize these were probably assembled in China, but I don't want any China marking crap on my American car.

All the Napa brand electronics are made by Standard along with may others .Anything made buy Standard Motor Products is top shelf.
All BWD products are made by Standard also. = http://www.oreillyauto.com/site/c/de...yword=14089936

Re: GM PN 14089936 Relays
Standard Motor Products does make good stuff. However, they also have an economy line of parts that are usually made off shore. The economy line part numbers have a "T" suffix.
I think the T-Series parts used to be their regular "red" box parts. The part numbers without the "T" suffix are what used to be their top shelf "Blue Streak" line.
I used to run Blue Streak points and condensers back in the day. I thought the brass terminals and copper plating they used on these parts was a big selling point back then. I doubt they performed any better than their red box parts.

I'm not trying to turn this thread in to a SMP advertisement but when it comes to stock replacement electronic/electrical parts, I trust them. I clicked on the "Our Brands" section on there home page and I was impressed.

Yes some of there stuff is made other then here but that's just common practice.
Sucks but that's the way it is. Even some of Mickey Thompsons tires are made in Mexico.
You would never now it by looking at the tire because its printed so small you cant see it.

That's a good idea, and most likely the only way to get an exact stock replacement.

I dunno I guess I could list my originals on Ebay for you. I've rewired 80% my car for aftermarket fuel injection so I have no use for them anymore.

Re: GM PN 14089936 Relays
I'm not sure if its the same for this, but on my MAF relays I was able to swap the the top covers.
The original ones are glued on but with a little care and patience they will come off and they snap right onto the new chinese ones.
In getting the originals off, I started prying on a back corner where its less visible.
