ANYBODY USING THE LINGENFELTER 74219 CAM PLEASE REPLY
Lingenfelter Sales recommended this cam for
my application,1989 Tpi engine. I think it might be to much of a cam for an everyday driver. I am looking for info on this
cam as far as driveability and performance goes. Personally I think the 74211
might be a wiser choice.
Any input and advice would be greatly
apreaciated.
Here are my mods for now:
Stock L98 block (new)
AFR 190 heads
Accel intake manifold
Bosh 24Lb injectors
Comp Cams 1.52 Roller Rockers
85 Vette torque converter
SLP 1 5/8 headers
Accel Runners
Ported plenum
Stock 3.27 gears
------------------
1989 Formula 350, Crane AFPR at 48PSi, SLP Air BOX, Dynomax UltraFlow 3" Cat Back, Performance Resource Chip with 160 stat, modified MAF. 160K
on the motor. 14.08 at 96.66

It is a good cam, I think it'd go great with your mods. Next on your list would be a higher stall converter, like 2400 or 2800.

I think the 219 is a good cam also,a better match might be the SuperRam intake though. If you plan to stay with the Long runner setup. The 211 was designed for that application. IM not saying it wouldnt work. But the cam and intake would not be optimized for the same rev range.
Thats the way they were designed, the 219 for the SuperRam,and the 211 for the long tubes.

The 219 cam is very versatile. It will work great for your application. The converter you're using is a higher stall unit which will match up fine to the cam.

I run a 219* and had one similar to the 211*.
I would go with the 219*..... You'll have no problems on the street with it and your performance will improve.
