UMI transmission cross member
Compared with the stock transmission cross member, does the UMI one make any difference to the body rigidity, just as subframe connectors do?
Has anyone ever felt such difference?

Re: UMI transmission cross member
It may help a little if it is stronger based on the quality of materials. I think most people buying aftermarket trans cross members are looking to relocate their torque arm mount away from the side of the transmission. That's the reason I bought my torque arm trans cross member combination.

Re: UMI transmission cross member
one of the things it will do is tie left and right side together.
and add a bit more firmness and support to the trans.= not has much flex.
UMI makes a nice looking crossmember that takes a TQ arm.
but i like BMR's cross member looks like UMI's without the big a$$ ear on it for the TQ. it's also the best looking in fit and size. when running big tubes under your car.
was asking UMI if i could get one without the TQ mount. but was told no..
but low and behold...BMR had one just like it the way i wanted

had one made by another maker..sorta big and blocky... but firm...

will have one made from 1/4 plate and see what we can come up with. its the ends that are tricky with the twist..
