Hey guys. just wondering if anyone has any experience with Hydrograhic printing. Im curious to know how well it holds up under the hood with the heat... Valve covers, Intake, plenum, runners, etc.. Thanks!

Re: Hydrographic printing?

Its just as good as an automotive base coat / clear coat paint job.
Will hold up good on valve covers , intake, etc. If done right.

Re: Hydrographic printing?

@FST thanks bud. I was kinda hesitant but I grew up in a body shop. I can prep and lay down a primer, base, and clear coat fairly decent

@artic I'm going to start with my stuff once I get proficient i plan on dabbling in it on my free time. Doesn't seem to outrageous.

Re: Hydrographic printing?

The big tank setups are where the $$$ is at. For ideal size parts your looking at 10k plus to get a good setup. If you can lay a good paint job you can learn to dip. YouTube ghost process.
You 1st prime and lay your base color. Different. Base will make a total different effect with the same print.

You then dip and rinse part.
then clear coat it.

Sky's the limit on what can be done.

Re: Hydrographic printing?

We started doing some of the small stuff, Guns and small car stuff.
you can get the plastic Tanks cheap. less then $200.i line mine with 4 mil plastic sheet, for easy clean up for now, i say small but i could dip a 55" TV.

We only just started. we are hooking up water skimmers top and bottem
and size frames now.

it it takes off. ill heat the shop it's in. for winter. but till nexed summer just dinkn with it.

and yes its the Base color that sets off the Print. it's endless to what you could do.

after the clear is on. you can cut and buff, to a Glass like finnish if you like.

if we could get a print sheet larg enoff we could use a above grnd pool and do the back half of a car/Camaro in say carbon fiber print. the rest would be easy. doors. hood and stuff.

this is what you think about. sitting around a bonfire and having a few Beers.

install rotesery in pool with car body on it..put pool back together. fill pool.
lay print. spray print. dip body...it could be done...Beer

Your post sounds a little confusing, but if I understand it correctly you are in a company that does painting? How much do you charge per foot? Saw someone earlier saying usual rate is .85 but he got his for .35
