Lokar flexible oil dipstick
I had a hell of a time installing my stock dipstick with air tube headers. When I finally got it installed, it leaked.
I bought this from Kragen for $70 and installed it very quickly. It sealed perfectly as well.
This is the stock photo, not from my car

Re: Lokar flexible oil dipstick
Well, I usually check the oil "before" I drive. I could always tap the handle and put an extension on it if I wanted to check the oil hot. I'll live with it to not have the stock tube anymore.

Re: Lokar flexible oil dipstick
I've had the Lokar oil dipstick on my car for almost ten years now. Never had an issue with it other than the fact that the handle is right between two of the header pipes. I've always wanted to extend the handle somehow but never really looked into it. If anyone has any quick ways to solve the issue feel free to post it up.

I just realized after I originally posted that when I quoted your previous post it censored your screen name. That is hilarious!

Twin_Turbo - that's exactly how mine looks. I'm going to make an extension on the handle so it doesn't end right next the the header pipe. Did you try the stocker though? It's alot worse trying to snake it through the header tubes.

Nice, I'd love to see a pic how you routed it through the header. I'll try to machine a new handle for the Lokar and post some pics too.

I have this same dipstick. It has been on my car for the 4 years that I've owned it.
It does get quite hot if you are using it with emissions legal headers and the stove pipes.

You may want to try using the zz4 dipstick tube. See link and scroll down. I use it with headers and it solved a lot of fitment issues.

Re: Lokar flexible oil dipstick
I have 92 Firehawk LT1....#36 Built 1st year production the LT1 is stroked to 383 ci .My problem is getting the stock oil dip stick tube in. Its Impossible!!!!! I got ole out pretty easy just grabbed it w/ vise grips and used my strut tower brace for leverage and out it Popped!!!.........I tried freezing the new tube sanding the factory paint off prior to freezing it in the freezer for a week, This is the most worst thing i've tackled on the car. I was at it for 4 hrs it would go in maybe 1-2" then that was it i greased it,sprayed it, twisted it, hammered on it w/o no Lucky.......I guess time to spend $100+ for lokar flexiable and be done w/it. Any other ideas???

Or you pay to get a Lokar Stick and install that in your drive way in about 5 minutes.

Re: Lokar flexible oil dipstick
Everything. Just go with a factory stick, life is better that way.
#1. Too fricken short. Drive the car for 5 minutes? Thats okay, it'll be 250° for about an hour.
#2, need to check oil by the side of the road? See #1.
#3, want to remove it? Need to pull header bolt. Recently drive the car? See #1.
#4, Want to check the level? Its not made of spring steel, so it constantly binds and contorts into odd shapes and its never accurate. use it enough and eventually the tip will break off inside the oil pan.
Screw Lokar, use GM.
