v6 power steering hose / Edelmann=CRAP
I had to replace my power steering power hose on my v6 car. went to oreily's when the hose that they had was $4 cheaper than napa, and they had it in stock
both places had the same brand of hose... Edelmann
I should have ordered a delco hose from rock auto. The Edelmann hose has a totaly wrong steel line on it, and it's a PITA to install. I had to bend it slightly to make it work so there's crimp in the hose, and the hose is so short that the rubber part of it is under tension, which probably means it's going to fail prematurely
if you need a power steering pressure hose for a V6, stay AWAY from Edelmann

Re: v6 power steering hose / Edelmann=CRAP
here's something strange...
I went to rock auto, and they sell three different kinds or power steering pressure hoses. The pictures off all three were different picture, but all three had the same faulty s curve as the one I pulled off my car yesterday. I would buy the delco hose, but I sure don't want another one with the same design. I want one like my original!

Part of the problem with aftermarket. I would say more so parts store parts.
Is that if they can make one part for 10 cars they will.
This helps and hurts you. For instance the window motor in my wifes Cavalier fits I think actually around 10 different GM cars. Great thing about GM so many part are interchangeable.
But when aftermarket get's to it, sometimes a part like a powersteering hose for your car will fit an S10 great, but your car takes some work.
In light of the second post that the fitting did not seal, I would say they are more of a sub par part.
But just something else to consider. Stock parts will always work better, however aftermarket can be just fine.
Some of that comes down to getting a good manufacturer.
