get the largest brand name that your wallet can afford . you will be glad later down the road . once you have one you will wonder how you ever got by with out it before . so very many uses , good luck .

Re: Air compressor? help
i have a craftsman pro series 75 gal and it does what i need and its a quiet motor vs the standard 75 gal red compressor from them.
i agree with the others, if you can get something bigger, do so. by getting a bigger unit will mean less cycling. when i run my impact or blow dust out of the garage it dosent take long before it starts to cycle.
for what i do is fine.

Re: Air compressor? help
Most body tools take a ton of cfm. It's not pressure that matters so much as the cfm del'ery. That means a two stage pump and normally a 220 service to run it.Trust me that yrs ago I went threw the stages of upgrades buying and sell compressors until I got to a point of one that would do everything I wanted to do.In the end it cost me alot more than if I had bought what I needed in the first place.Knowing what to look for is of course important. The pic I am posting is a I/R cast iron 60 gallon that I/R doesn't build anymore unless you up into the $1.500 to $2,000 range and parts are still available.Given the amount of use I do,it will be past on to my grandkids as long as I take care of it.I shopped Craigslist and ended up getting it for $100.00 and then added a new motor for $250.00.Still a very good buy.
I got a new air filter housing and oil filler plug to it and this is a pic of it before those parts came in:
Memory serves me correctly it is 15cfm@ 90 psi. From 0 to 125 psi is timed at about 4 minutes because I reset the pressure switch.

Best advice . Mine's a Craftsman. Use it for the cars, boats, you can pretty much name it. Never regretted it.
