Belltech drop spindles coming in a few months.
For those that are interested, I was doing some shopping around for drop spindles and I contacted Belltech. I asked if they were going to produce them again.
Here is their response:
"We are scheduled to produce a 2200 part # for the 82-92. It should be
done in a few months. "

Re: Belltech drop spindles coming in a few months.
When I was looking for 2" drop spindles for my Monte, I almost got Beltechs, but then I found the Summit brand. They were cheaper so I got those instead. They have been trouble free since 2000 when I installed them. If summit has them for your car, you also wont have to wait months..

yes what i meant to say was that i have been looking and have found nothing other than the racecraft for our cars. i didnt now about PA. racecraft sells for around $550. not looking at that much wanted something cheaper. most of the belltechs for other cars are around $200. if they put out 3rd gen one again then i will wait to see if the price is right.

I was thinking of something that was cast. That does look like a nice part though.

Cool, hopefully the price is reasonable enough to justify drop spindles over lowering springs. I understand drop spindles are the proper way to lower the front while keeping proper geometry, they've just been too expensive for me to justify buying them over drop springs, especially the $1050 ones posted! Those are pretty trick though.

I would be interested in these though, depending on the weight, racecrafts are right at 10 lbs, 9 lbs for the rack verson, pretty light for a spindle.

Re: Belltech drop spindles coming in a few months.
I'm going with Racecraft since ebmiller has set his brake systems up for theirs. Also because I want a flat 2" all around drop, in which RC has a 2" drop. I think they'd sell a lot more if they made them in 1.5" drop spindles, for those who want to lower their car, but not too much. Oh well...

Re: Belltech drop spindles coming in a few months.
I contacted Bell Tech today. The ETA is about 1-2 months because there was some hardware delay. They are supposed to call me back with a more accurate date. As soon as I hear anything I'll update everyone. I asked about pricing: MSRP $ 319.00. They will be a 2" drop.

If all this works with ebmillers 4 wheel disc Wilwood setup I want, then I'll probably get these over the Racecraft version. We will see when it comes out, as Racecrafts' piece just looks so sexy, and by itself even for the price they are.
I can't wait to get into my suspension.

I am running belltech drop spindles with Ed's 13.4" rotor CTS-V Brembo caliper kit, so I doubt there would be a problem using these spindles with any o Ed's other kits.

Stiletto package is going to be from what I know of stiletto chassis works on RC cars and trucks that this will be a completely weight savings setup, everything will be only what is absolutely necessary for the car to move and sit.
We will see what they are calling their Stiletto package though.
Maybe to deal with these guys' parts?
http://www.swracecars.com/store/Stil...36=35-050.aspx
http://www.racetechracecars.com/parts.asp?cat=27
All related to steering components. So it looks like this will be for a manual steering setup through Racecraft.
Edit: Check out the Stiletto Mustang Suspension package. All lightweight parts, as well as a rack and pinion setup, as I'm sure will be a resemblance of our kit.

Saftey is #1 concern. Drag oriented parts aren't usually up to the task of the additional grip. Less unsprung weight is good, but a broken component isn't going to get you anywhere any faster.

I didn't see where it stated they were only for off road drag racing only though. Are dropped spindles a benefit for drag racing?

Spoke with Belltech today and unfortunately it's not good news. The production has been delayed even longer, possibly 6 months. "A change in the workforce" was how it was explained to me.

With the economy the way it is, I wouldn't put my bets on Belltech delivering anytime soon. Get the RaceCraft spindles; nice pieces.

Re: Belltech drop spindles coming in a few months.
I don't understand why it's such an ordeal to produce them? They used to make them... just make them again.
The projected price seems fair considering they weren't much less before. IIRC, they were like $239 or something then. Not bad considering a Flowmaster catback costs almost twice as much as the same kit 8 or 9 years ago.

Re: Belltech drop spindles coming in a few months.
Unfortunately it's not that simple. From what we could gather, the foundry that cast them destroyed the last master molds and prototypes roughly 5-6 years ago, so BellTech needs to remake everything. cocacolakidd has posted lots of information on the hows & whys in several threads over the years, and I even contacted several ironworks plants to engineer some molds to make a small run since we had located some good condition unmodified spindles, but we had to work things out and front up some capital of which cocacolakidd, myself nor anyone else had sitting around at that time.

would it be a bad idea to design them with the caliper mount moved out to use a twelve inch rotor?before you assume the wheels won't fit, half ton chevy trucks have had twelve inch rotors and fifteen inch wheels since 1970.

Well I took the liberty to email them recently and got this in reply:

Thank you for your inquiry with Stylin Trucks. There's been rumors for quite some time that drop spindles may be made for f-body camaros, firebirds, trans ams, but at this point it's all been rumors, we have not been given any expected production date. We do carry drop coils to lower your vehicle currently.
