They are only T rated to 118mph. Scary...

Re: NEW MT sportsman s/t radials!

That's not so bad if you think about it, how many cars with those tires are gonna see speeds over 118 on the street?

Hopefully none, I dunno I prefer a little stability at speed...

Re: NEW MT sportsman s/t radials!

Really because you regularly drive at 118mph? Speed ratings are for SUSTAINED speeds its not a max speed rating.

Re: NEW MT sportsman s/t radials!

You wanna put cheap tires that are unsafe at speed on your car, be my guest, I race in street classes on tracks and like something a little better under foot, if you can't relate to that. Oh well. When I'm at Mid-Ohio, or Maxton N.C. on the standing mile this year, I'll be thankful I put some real rubber underneath my car!

Re: NEW MT sportsman s/t radials!

If you race on a track you're obviously not going to use $100 tires, these aren't for you. These are for people with skinny rims that want a little more traction. People like me. Also, your comment about stability, Radial T/As feel fine out past that speed, but due to the rating, I wouldn't want to hold that speed for long.

Re: NEW MT sportsman s/t radials!

You know that's all that I was saying. T-rated tires are low rated and unsafe at speed. It must be the end of the week, people take stated facts as insults and lash out, jeez Rayzr ya' think I don't know that a tire rating is for sustained speed. Sorry if I pissed any of you off. I still won't buy cheap tires just cuz they look good, not even for my S-10 w/a V-6 in it. Have a nice night...
