Cale Banks muffler

Bought one for 15 bucks new in box at a rummage sell. I have a flowmaster on my 89 RS, would I like if I swapped. It's stainless steel with 3" inlet and dual 3" outlets on same side with chrome slash tips already welded on, kinda staggered. Looks wicked but not sure how it will sound.

It definetly performs better than youre blowmaster. But it wont be as loud, but it will sound better.
I say do it because its a high quality cat back, its very unique nobody else will have one. And i dont think it can be baught anymore. Dahm that was a good deal, that guy could have sold it on here for ALOT more.
and BTW, its Gale Banks.

Re: Cale Banks muffler

Yes, it is an excellent system, but as offered by 8T9bandit, it will be much quieter than your Slowmaster. Gale Banks is now strictly Diesel performance stuff, but he had helped develop the Buick GN's and also built a pump gas 3rd gen Firebird that did over 280 mph at Bonneville. They no longer produce this kit, so one still in the box would be quite a find.

Re: Cale Banks muffler

I have this muffler on my GTA along with a set of edelbrock tes headers and a custom y pipe, I love the sound and have never seen another on anything else. And as stated above that was cheap.

Re: Cale Banks muffler

Glad to see these reviews.... I've got one of these Banks cat-back sets that I bought several years ago for $75 off the old TGO boards. I've been meaning to put it on one of my GTAs for a long time, but have never got around to doing it.

Maybe these posts will get me going in the right direction now....

gale banks is far from strictly diesel, they offer power packs for gas pick ups, and motorhomes still, got power programers for gas look for yourself,

check out the banks twin turbo 350 1100 HP

gale banks proformance is the best out there IMO, have it on a 460 ford and it was like night and day, climbing huge hills a 65-70MPH in 3rd with about 24,000LBS, passing diesels the same size/weight like they were on bricks......before it was about 50MPH

i would LOVE to get the gale banks headers and exhaust for my camaro if i could ever find a kit

here is a page on Project Bonneville (the 88 T/A) http://www.gtasourcepage.com/galebanksturbogta.html
