Ive used FatMat, I bought 50 sqaure feet from Ebay delivered for 79.00. If you want to do your entire car buy the 100 square feet. Its about 139. I used a heat gun when I put it in, worked great.

I am looking for something that won't let the condensation collect. When I pulled up the carpeting this week for mine, the sheet metal was WET and the car hasn't been driven in the rain as long as I've had it! NOT something I'm going to take lightly...

The jute was there, yes, but when I pulled up the carpet two days later, the jute was WET and left a lot of moisture in the trunk pan. I had driven the car in the cold two days prior. The two days were fairly humid, but the car was garaged for those two days.

I used Second Skin Audio (still finishing) and am very happy thus far... I was quite thorough, still need to do my doors.... & adding a supercharger for extra weight

Took my friend and I 2 days to do from pillars to rear of car (no main floor)

I BIG source of sounds it the rear well... so I put 1 layer down & then a liquid coating over it too


The flash made it look purple, but it's actually black & flat when dried...

I haven't heard of the brands above until now, but I have always had great results with the Dynamat product. I've seen drastic sound reduction from coverings a lot less obsessive than what is shown above. Not trying to knock the guy above, his devotion to sound deadening is quite impressive actually. I've just seen and had great results with the dynamat product, things like a 10" square pad deadening a whole metal panel.

lol its all the same stuff realy in the long run just price and ease of install changes, ime actualy a fan of the stuff they use for ventilation ducts they use in houses aswell dynamat is waaaayyyyy overpriced and all your realy getting is a fancy logo and advertising lol

I looked around a little bit on the internet today after my first post here and compared prices between the different brands. As far as what I could find, buying the Dynamat from Summit was just about the same price as many of the other brands I could find elsewhere. Maybe I am not looking in the right places, or seeing something wrong, but I couldn't find anything that would convince me to change.

yeah i guess its all just what your used to and your needs for instance some companies require you to buy a certain amount at a time others will sell it by the foot etc lol

I could see the advantage in buying your material by the foot, legnths custom fit to your needs. But then again, something that is made to insulate your home pipes, or something that is designed to be a sound deadener for your car. Six of one and half a dozen of another if you ask me, all in a matter of opinion.

Sound deadening products are NOT all equal. Roofing materials and home heating ducts are no where near as effective as quality deadners are.
Second Skin Audio sells an excellent product, and they are a top notch company with outstanding customer service.

When I redid my Interior, the interior shop used Hushmat in the cabin area and doors. Carpet laid on top of it and made a real difference in noises and rattles.

I've used 2 types. One from Custom Sounds and the other was from Mr. Gasket. The Mr. Gasket worked slightly better, but then I torched it onto the metal.
