ET Streets or Hoosier QTP's

My Mickey Thompson ET streets got a nail in one of the tires. I asked before about if i could patch it up like a regular street tire and would it be safe. The majority of people said to buy a new set. With that in mind, I would like to know which DOT slick would be best just riding to the track and track use. Before anybody mentions buying real slicks, I don't have a driveshaft safety loops and therefore cannot run a real slick. I also dont have another set of wheels I can throw slicks on.

QTP gets my vote, but there is no reason not to have a driveshaft safety loop for the hour it takes to install one and the safety it offers.

Re: ET Streets or Hoosier QTP's

QTP hands down, I have had both and the hoosiers were way better for me, held air (no tubes) lighter construction, traction was not a guessing game with them either. I sold my ET streets with plenty of tread, I kept the QTPs until they had no indicator, just then they started going away.

id go with et street drag radials i have the et streets tube type 26x11.5x16" and theres no way in hell they can be driven on the street in rain and its not a nice ride to the track. The drag radials have nice tread and theres people running 7's on them.

Re: ET Streets or Hoosier QTP's

I was running mickey Thompson ET streets on my 2000 Z28 in a 255/50/16 on the stock rims and they did awesome, was pulling low 1.7x all day long and a few high 1.6 off of stock internal LS1 3.73gears and launching easy off a 4000 stall. best of 12.52@108 BUT they wore out quick and I didnt want to drive in the rain in them, so I got some nitto 555r DR's cause I got some 17x11 ZR-1 wheels to put them on so they were in 315/35/17 and they did great too, low 1.7's but not as consistant however they are lasting a LOT longer and I can drive them perfectly in the rain.
