Those with an 87 3rdgen and/or an Auto Xray?????????????

I want to get a auto xray scanner for my 87 Camaro. I read a post below where it said that while driving and scanning it advances the timing. I want to be able to scan while driving with no problems. Would my '87 ecm have a problem with the scanner screwing with timing or will I be able to drive and scan with it without a problem.

John,

Not to worry. The Xray will alter values on some parameters but only on certain engines, like the 1987 LG4. The Xray will not alter any parameters on a TPI while scanning.

I had a similar problem with my Autoxray. I sent it back and had it fixed for free under warranty. You should be able to scan when driving the car, w/o affecting the ign timing.
