Summit Distributor

http://store.summitracing.com/partde...5&autoview=sku

Replaced my old distributor when I was on the dyno and picked up 20 RWHP and around 22 RWTQ just by switching it out. Looks very nice and alot cheaper than MSD. A good pick IMO

Re: Summit Distributor

Good news.

I´m thinking of replacing my distributor too.
Is it a direkt replacement for the stock one?

Was your old one badly worn or was it something wrong with it?
Was the car running ok before the swap?

Many questions, but it is interesting to know if you reached the good result because of a very bad stock dist or if the new one is so much better than a normally worn stock.

Thanks

the one he posted there is a direct replacement if you have a CC distrubtor.

So yes, if you have a CC dist with plugs on the front like that one, you can drop it in and go.

Re: Summit Distributor

Another cheap alternative is to buy a new cap and rotor and rebuild kit from the dealer. I think I spent around $100. I rebuilt mine with an MSD cap and rotor and parts from the dealer. It was way easier than I thought and I got the satisfaction of rebuilding the alternator myself. The only tools required were a hammer, punch, wire brush, and screwdriver. Not sure if anyone is interested. Just food for thought.

Re: Summit Distributor

Another alternative is the D.U.I. distributor and coil.
A little more expensive but do you think it is worth it?

It looks real good when I read about it.
