Heater Cores

I just found out that the heater core I replaced last December is totally shot and I'm pissed! It was a National Auto generic heater core and I bought it because it was the cheapest thing around at 22 bucks. I guess you get what you pay for. Anyone know of any QUALITY heater cores (I guess AC delco?). I will be buying one on monday, so any opinions are welcome. Thanks,
John

Yep, I have the one from Autozone also. Can't beat $19 and a lifetime warranty.

How long have you guys had your autozone cores? I want to make sure I don't have to do this again for a while, I don't care about buying a new one (warranty issue) so much as the labor involved. Do they last a long time? Thanks,
john

Here's my theory on parts houses. first i hate autozone cuase the local store treats customers like morons (they're really the morons). I call them for a price and then have O'reilly's (don't have them, sub your parts house of choice) price match them for me. they're all lifetime gauranteed if they're worth anything (and they're not worth anything). they're just banking on you selling your car before the part goes south. but hey, in homer's words...What are ya gonna do?

I just don't understand how these morons can make something of SUCH BAD QUALITY that even though it's made out of F***ing metal, it still leaks. There are SIMPLE ways to make metal seal, but they just don't want to put forth the effort!! Anyway, now that I am done ranting and raving, anyone have an acdelco heater core? or those of you with autozone heater cores, how long have you had them with no problems? Thanks.

iv had my autozone core for a bout a year now and no probs.i waz kinda leary at first cuz i have had my share of bad luck with their parts.the one thing i dont understand is why everyone has a hard time doin tha labor.it took me about 30 to 45 min to do tha whole job.and that included putting up my tools.an no i didnt have any screws left over LoL.

I installed a new heater core in my '83Z a couple of weeks ago. I took my old one to a radiator shop to see if it was worth fixing. It wasn't, so a new one from them was $29.95, with an ETERNAL warranty.

Removal and installation is really simple now that I know how to do it! Great heat, no problems!
