60 dyno proven hp from intake/exhaust
My brother and I put a LT4 383 in his 95 trans am with the 306-8 cam and bigger valves. He had 1-5/8" mid length headers, a 3" flowmaster 80-series cat-back with no cat and the stock intake elbow with a cone filter. With this combination and a dyno tune, the car made 321hp at 5600 rpm at the wheels on a mustang dyno. It seemed a little low. We pulled off the intake elbow and saw 331hp to the wheel. (he's running speed density)
Over the next months he put on 1-3/4" longtube headers, a 4" mufflex exhaust with a Spintech muffler and made a custom 4" intake with a huge K&N filter. He took it to be dyno tuned at F-body Central and it made 381hp at the wheel.
