Holley Stealth Ram Prom Help
I just purchased a stealth ram, 58mm throttle body, and the adjustable fuel rail kit for the stealth ram. I got everything all out and was reading over all the directions and realized it had no provisions for the EGR. This thought totally slipped my mind before hand, but not my question is, how will the car run without the EGR hooked up to stock ecm and custom burnt chip. I have no idea what the chip is burnt for because the kid i bought it from had it done. The car has a decent cam in it and higher compression, so im assuming that is what the chip is for. Will the car run with this set up, or do i have to get another burnt chip and how much will that run me. I know motorvations chips are like 400 bucks, and thats a lot considering i can get a C950 for 800.
Any help would be GREAT im at a loss here with what to do.

My recommendation is to learn PROM tuning. Is not too difficult and using Tunerpro it keeps getting easier! Your initial expense for a Laptop/emulator will definitely pay for itself in the long run. With your combination it's likely it will need further customized tuning to realize it's potential.
My 383, HSR is running great, but could still benefit...

I have Stealth Ram with 52mm Throttle. I'm being told that if I upgrade the stock cam, I will also have to get a burnt chip... and I have no idea how to go about that or how much it would cost.

you shouldn't have a problem with out the EGR. I took it off my original motor and all the A.I.R provisions with no problems. Now i have the C950 on my stealthram. Very simple to use after reading the direction 3 or 4 times and playing with the tunings. I do suggest going to Stealthram Message board though. Most of us are on here but a few poeple are also on other boards and have different setup and cars. godd luck.
BTW if you don't get a C950 get a new chip burnt for your application.

..some have had luck w/ pcmforless too. I'd say Ed Wright or Megasquirt dfi. Then you've got on the fly tune ability for less $.
- first things first, is it an MAF car? if so, it will probably run fine, but proper tuning will net more.

Ya it is a MAF car, im going to run .501 lift cam, 1.6 rockers, .125 domed pistons 2.02/ 1.60 valves thast the basics. It's not the stock chip, right now it has a burnt chip for hte pistons with smaller heads and a slightly smaller cam... i hope it will be ok for a month or so until i can do it right the first time and buy the C950

- If you're looking at the C950, check into the Megasquirt first. Same tuning ability, just as user friendly, A LOT less money.
