I was looking at that page a little more that shift kit was for a 1988+ so I am guessing that it well not work with my 1985 700R4 I didn’t know there was a difference??? Where can i get a shift kit that well work with my 700R4?

Give Probuilt a call.

Hes a good and knowledgeable guy to deal with.

Failing that I would suggest going with TransGO.

Earlier trans had some issues that were addressed in the mid 87 + versions.

Also earlier trans had a smaller input shafts and a few other things.

later

In 1988 or 1987 chevy improved he 700r4 by doing many upgrades to it. That is why they make a shift kit for the early 700's and then the late 700's.

I installed a B&M Transpak in mine 4 yrs ago and have had no problems. Shifting was week before and now it shifts great. Also put a B&M 3-4 shift valve in I can now pull 4500 rpms in od with stock 305. Kit was not that hard to put in also.
