"The built-in capacitor allows energy from the ignition coil to accumulate in the capacitor until the voltage reaches the ionization point. At that split second point the entire power of the stored spark is discharged at once, creating a spark 300 times more powerful."
I just shelled out $250 for these damn things.
If they don't do anything I'm gonna send em' back!
Anyone ever tried these plug wires before?
They'll arrive wednesday... I'll reply with my comments once installed.

lol, i'd return them as fast as you can. get some MSD wires if you want to throw some money around and get a quality product.

Any particular reason why? A lot of reviews seem to point positive...
I suppose it would depend on your application.. if you 'need' the spark as to how you'll notice the difference. I already have accell 8.8 but they're arcing onto the headers... can't have that! In my judgement my poorly tuned motor needs all the help it can get, so we'll see.
You have to admit its an interesting concept they've got...

the capacitor cannot accumulate power in the wire from the coil except when it the rotor comes around. So for a split second it will fire, then the coil doesn't power up that wire until the rotor comes around again. You're basically tossing money away on this when quality wires can be had for much less. I do have a few tornado air intakes i can sell you along with some great swampland in florida if you're interested.

I couldn't locate any real reviews about Nology plug wires aside from their propaganda. So I took the plunge and am reporting my options...
They were tricky to install for something they claimed as a 'stock OEM replacement'. The capacitor ...all 12 inches of it... makes for a nice, thick, extra hard to bend section of wire. Thick enough they wouldn't route through my engine-mounted brackets.
The box did come with their own seperators, but only to hold the THICK capactior portion of the wire... what if I wanted to attatch seperators somewhere down the line...? (Regular seperators fit from the old wire, but thats not the point... it didn't come with everything I needed) For what I paid this is entirely unacceptable dumbass engineering.
At least they made sure to give PLENTY long wires for my 'custom preassembled fit 350/truck' ( Nology Hotwire 014118301 ) which as a plus at least they didn't forget the external HEI coil.
Don't get me wrong, once you dress them up the best you can they look really badass with the groundstraps... I placed mine on the valve cover bolts.
Now, the only thing that I can say good about these wires are that they DID work (in my case) as they say adverstise. I noticed right away with a smooth crisp idle. The computer went into closed loop faster and while driving I could tell there was an increase in reponse and power.
Don't get me wrong, these aren't "WHOA I HAVE A NEW CAR" aftereffects... granted I have only 160 miles on a new Probuilt 4l60E, new 02, plugs, headers all at once and i'm still getting used to an entirely different truck.
I feel confident to say I felt a good nudge in performance, but most imporantly helping my computer idle my radical camshaft timing.
I'll be requesting a new plug wire (at $34 a wire they best be perfect) because on one they used a plug boot as a distributer boot, which is shaped entirely different with a bit less rubber. I had to take a blade and CUT my new wire boot down to snap onto the terminal. Not a big deal, it justs just an odd looking boot amoung the others...
Needless to say I'm horrified at the quality of their product.
I'm more interested in the powertrain than astetics anyways... the extra quality I paid for just WASN'T there. I'm willing to look past that as long as it keeps me idling level and don't arch or crack from heat as my old Accel 8.8s did.
Part2 coming soon.
Next we'll see how well their support is (which is supposed to be a lifetime warrenty & top notch) as I try to request a new plug cable to replace the oddball...

Figure I should post one last update to my small review.
Don't use e-mail for their consumer support... you'll never get a reply.
He said the seperators would 'work' on the smaller portion of the wire... I'm like... well yeah they fit around it.. but they DON'T snugly hold them at all. He offered to give me more seperators but that definately wouldn't help none. My old seperators work fine tho.
He also wanted me to box up and ship my plug wire that had a different boot on the distributor, offering to pay for shipping.
Bull****. I'm not going to have a week downtime just so the booty looks the same as the rest.
BUT *** DAMN that idle and extra bit of power they provide... still... not worth it untill he can address the quality issues.
So. Future reference. Now nobody has to follow in my shoes unless they don't mind spending every last penny for that extra drop of performance. I really hope he takes my advice and fixes these issues... only THEN will the product be worth considering!

A lot of my buddys used these on their Vmax motorcycles for a while. They met with mixed reviews. Although there were some dyno verified HP increases there were a lot of problems with backfiring, misfiring, and general running problems. I chose not to use them on mine and won 2 VMOA dyno shootouts with my bike. I am not a fan of them.

you said your old plugs where shorting out on the headers. that might be part of your "loss" of power that you are now gaining back.
try this. remove the grounding strap and see what happens then. chances are you are not going to see any difference with the grounding strap their vs not being there.
also these wires are known for wearing out fairly quick compared to other wires with the insulation seperating the grounding strap and the inner wire breaking down due to the thousands of volts between them. kinda like when your plug wires sit up against a piece of metal long enough they end up shorting out at that piece quckker then if held away from the metal.
