Meziere Electric Water Pump

Meziere Electric Water Pump
I have had mine on the car for a couple of months now and thought I would give a report. The one I put on my Trans Am is model number WP-321.
Took a trip up the mountains to Big Bear this past weekend with our 3rd Gen Club and the car performed quite well. Normally it runs around the 170 degree mark. Climbing the steep grade it got up to maybe the 185 degree mark.
I can now sit in traffic with the air conditioning on and the car does not heat up that much. All in all I'm quite pleased with how it has performed.
One of the main reasons I had bought the water pump was for the horsepower gain. When I get back to the track and the dyno this November we shall see what gains I get. Meziere says around 15 HP. I will feel quite satisfied if I get 10HP.

I have not noticed any power gains. However my car was putting out 304RWHP before the electric water pump. I'm not sure I would notice the 10hp gain. When I take it back to the track this comming November I should see a drop in my et and an increase in MPH.

The Meziere cost me around $400 from Thunder Racing. He has sales from time to time. There are three things to gain from it.
1. About 10 pounds in weight from the factory unit.
2. Increase in cooling capacity. I can sure vouch for that.
3. Increase in horsepower. I have seen numerous posts in the area of 10 horsepower gains.
I think for the money there are other places to gain more horsepower if that is what you are looking for. However I'm at the point where it is getting harder to find horsepower.

Sounds cool Allen.. So over all it was a great install? Gene had mentioned years ago when he purchased an electric pump he had to do some block work.. I take it this bolted right up for you..

Hi Brandon
Yes the Mezeire electric water pump was an easy bolt on. I did have to get a shorter belt though. I had underdrive pulleys. It has worked out quite well to date. My cooling has greatly improved. As far as power goes we will have to see at the track or dyno. Allen

The Meziere WP-321 is made for the serpentine set up. Because I had previously bought a pulley kit I had to get a new serpentine belt. If you are running the stock system chances are good you can use your existing belt.
