New XFI cams from Comp cams

new custom grinds for EFI motors from comp cams... look pretty good, suited for EFI applications..... developed by Comp and FAST fuel injection. i think i might have to look into them for my motor someday

I have been keeping an eye on them myself. I was wonder why there is big jump from a 218 degree intake to a 230 degree intake. Thought maybe they would have a 224 in there some place.

I also assume the lift is with 1.6 ratio rocker arms. That is pretty high lift for a Gen 1 small block with 1.5 rockers. With the present lineup I would be interested in the 218 degree cam. Don't know how much power I would get over my ZZ9 at 212 degrees on the intake. If it was 20 or more horsepower I would go for it.

The 230 degree cam is to much for my highley moded TPI. Allen

yeah a 220 something would be nice but i think that 230 cam might be really nice with a 383-406 TPI car... deffinately work great with a superram 383-406

the lift numbers are with 1.6 ratio rockers

I agree. That would be a killer cam for a 383 or a 400+ motor. Allen

Surprised this post did not get more action. Anyways I like the looks of the 08-466-8 cam. Advertised duration is 268/276 degrees and at .050 its 218/224.

Lift is .570/.565 with 113 degrees lobe seperation angle. This cam is advertised 1 degree smaller than the Extreme Energy cam. It is most likely less than the LT4 hot cam. So it appears to be a larger cam in a smaller package so to speak.

The ramps open and close faster. I would think the idle should be slightly better than the other cams in its class such as the LT4 hot cam. I think I will replace my ZZ9 style cam with this one. My TrickFlow heads will handle the lift. Allen

Yeah, that one does look pretty nice. I'm guessing they don't have a 22x intake because sales are probably lacking in that area. People probably want 21x for stockish systems or 230+. 22x seems to have alot of turnover.

i am worried that the 218/224 might be a tad small for a modded TPI 383 which i might be going with sometime next year. i think the 230/236 would be way to much for TPI and a 383 but be good for a superram/stealth ram. a 22x/22x would be nice for a TPI 383

MAN that is bad timing. I just bought their xr269hr (218/224) cam for my car. It's not in the car yet, but it would be such a hassle, both time and mostly $ to exchange it for one of these. I think that 08-465-8 (210/218 1200-5200rpm) would be great for me. The one I bought is good for 1500-5500rpm, so it would be the better choice of the new cams. What a bummer. I wonder just how much more power it would make over the one I have? Guess I'll never know. And to think I was just talking to the tech dept. at Comp (a couple times in the last month) asking about the best cam choice for my car (most power, etc). And they didn't even tell me about these. Such bad timing I always have.
