K&N vs Air Hog vs Cool Blue
K&N has some competition as of late from Fram with their Air Hog and Accel with their Cool Blue Filter line. They all claim to be high flow, but does anyone of them have a specific advantage in terms of flow? I'm specifically looking at the cone style air filters. Hmmmm...I'm boerd, lets make this a poll.

As far as I know K&N is still the most popular, but is no where near as good as what's out nowadays. I hear people allover switching from K&N. They're still good, but just not up to speed with the new stuff.
"new stuff" is a general term, and I'm refering specifically to the Fram or Accell.

there is a k and N test/display thing at my buddys auto parts store,
it has a k&N and a regular filter that are interchangeable, there is a blower that passes air through the filter and into a tube with a ping pong ball......the paper filter doesnt move the ball at all, the k&n lifts it up about half way into the tube
we put a fram air hog in it, and it shot all the way to the top
not very scientific but it appears they flow better

that "test" is a scam anyway..
btw, oil the K&N like you would when you goto install it... then do the same thing.
notice a clean paper filter flows better then a new K&N.

thats a solid design flow test too, albeit very crude, but will show you the difference.
