Never used them, hear most are good but nothing special. Some higher tires are nice and stickey. But I say buy a good set of BFs or Goodyears. Keep the money at home!

I have yakohama avid sts and they kick ***, you can burn out till the cows come home and they dont wear that much and they handle pretty good (for the price anyway).

I have been running Yokohama A520's for a couple years now. They hook like glue and have barely worn out in 10,000 miles. I have the 275/40/17 all around. They pulled a 1.900 60ft at the track and many passes around Road America with no problems.

i'm not one to support anything imported but i love the tread design and look of the avs es 100's. i bought a set of them for 83 bucks a piece from tirerack.com and i absolutely love them. great looking, great performing. they'd be ideal for the auto crosser, and they have pretty good grip in a straight line. they are even better in the rain. never had a tire that was so great in the rain. HOWEVER, these tires suck in the cold weather. i live in indiana and my iroc has a 305 with around 250hp and 2.73's in at the moment. i can spin the tires nailing it at 30mph in the colder months. which is fun, but these tires are'nt good for any winter driving, or any hard driving in cold weather. i still give these tires a must own rating and a thumbs up

Yoko AS430 on the front. Thumbs up from me, suprisingly. I ran yoko's a few years back on my oe wheels, hated them. They've really come around the last few years though...

Judging by the tire rack camparison, the Goodyear GS-D3 are the tires to go with?

I've run the A520's for a couple of years now (they've since been discontinued) and they've been great, especially for the price. I don't know what the new version is that replaced these tires, but I'm sure they're also a good tire. Don't get me wrong if you want the best wet/dry racing tire, the Goodyear Eagle F1 (D3's) are impossible to beat.

The Eagle F-1's may be a good handling tire, but the suck ***** at the dragstrip. 2.24 60' and rubber in 4 gears in my buddies 100% stock '98 Cobra convertible.
