Has anyone used these SFC's? These are the ones you can get on Ebay for like $100.

just received a set today,heavy duty,well built. plan on putting mine in this weekend. I am going to bolt in and then weld them.

installed this past weekend. fit like a glove. the only problem was getting the lca bolts out. ended up cutting them .[new ones come with frame connectors. just bolted in. wanted to drive with them that way to see difference. ended up being a big difference. still plan on welding. so bolts don't come loose. [2 bolts in lca mount, 2 mounting points along rocker area w/ 2 bolts and reinforcement plates top and bottom, ,2 bolts that tie into front subframe. well worth the money for 100-140 bucks

You can get them on ebay. They go for 100-150 bucks. I would wait for the $100 buy it now auction.

Im looking to buy these SFCs how hard is the install it sounds pretty easy to do. Also will have have any problems fitting them in i have Flowmaster cat back?

not that hard to install. hardest thing is getting lca bolts out. had to cut the heads off mine and drive them out. [used a cut off wheel]. connects to rear lca mount,runs along rocker panel. stock exhaust okay.

Did you have to remove any exhaust stuff to get the frame connectors installed?

My catalytic converter is in the way, and I can't seem to get the damn thing off!!

I don't have stock exhaust, ive got hedman long tubes,duals running to flowmaster 40's. should fit okay when you get your cat out. install and put cat back in

Would you be able to give me any advice on getting the cat off? Ive removed all the bolts and it still won't come off.

It's supposed to be a slip on cat but the thing won't budge. Ive even tried hammering the **** out of it, but that ain't worken either.

I just went through a cat removal.

it was a P.I.T.A

I spayed a lubicant anywere there was a slight space between were the to pipes joined. Then, used a large pipe wrench to spin the cat around. between using a hammer and putting both feet on the flange and pushing, we were finally able to get it off.

If that hadn't worked, I was going to try heating the pipe.

Hard to believe, but it was a bigger P.I.T.A then the &^*%& heater core.

Finally got the SFC's installed, what a pain in the A$$!!

Even after I got the cat off the y-pipe was still in the way, and it was near impossible to get the bolt holes drilled. I'm lucky though, because my dad owns a welding shop so I said screw bolting them in and had my dad just weld them in.

Although the installation was some what challenging, the results were great. The car just feels about a million times more solid. It's also nice and quiet, really helped get rid of some of those squeks and raddles. Good by body flex

Overall these things are a great deal for only $100.

So, it's better to just weld these things in without bolting them up? you can do that without removing anything? What about the carpet and stuff inside the car? Johnjm22, can we see pictures of your weld-in job? And where they were positioned and where the welding points were? That would help those of us who haven't done it yet, thanks!

No matter what, your going to have to remove the catalytic converter if you have the stock exhaust. If you plan on bolting them in you will probably have to take out the whole y-pipe, because it's very difficult to drill the holes with the y-pipe in the way. Thats why I said screw it and just had them welded in.

You should just mount them in as best you can by connecting them to the LCA's and putting in a couple bolts wherever you can and then take them to a shop to have them welded in.

With all that being said you may be able to drill the holes with out taking out the y-pipe, but it would be a pain in the A$$.

As for the carpet and stuff inside the car I don't know because I didn't put those bolts in.

As for pics, I try to get some up but no garantees.

I just installed a set on my car this weekend. It was a PITA,d but well worth it. I have an after market Y-pipe with no cat, so I didn't have to remove any of the exhaust. I bolted them in. You have to put 4 bolts through the floor so you have to push the carpet up out of the way. I plan on having them welded in later. They make a really big difference.

how much would your dad say it would cost to have them welded in? I would like to know just to have a baseline to start from. Thanks.

A job like this falls under the minimum fee rule. Eventhough the job doesn't take that long, the welding shop will probably give you their minimun fee. In my dad's case that would be about $100.

But you may be able to get a cheaper price than that if you go to a smaller shop.
