the backs arent open on the hoods. when you open the hood there are some holes in the back of the hood but they dont go all the way through the hood....

i went with a cheap paint job on my camaro after it was hit cause the insurance company did me dirty on what it was worth. and i have to strip it all the way down. so i need my hood painted by someone else and the rest of the car eventually to. how much is sand blasting? lol

Man this thing has been so f'd up!!!!!!!! I am finally getting my hood tomorrow!!! (a choir of angels singing in the backround) Don't ask what happened because it would be easier to list what the idiots didn't fu(k up!! I hope the hood is ok because I couldn't stand dealing with this company anymore. All I can say is to anyone reading this is just say NOOOOOOOOOOO!!!! Get the damn hood from someone that has their crap together. Nice people, bad service!

I don't believe that those who paid in full by credit or Paypal---right after the group got the signal from our leader---had all these problems getting the decals, etc., and had a very smooth transaction via the "original deal" that was worked out...by the leader.

The fact we had to wait for these items and the actual hoods for a month or longer, was a surprise, but accepted by most.

There may have been a few screw-ups for others, but all in all, regarding "my personal satisfaction" with this " group deal" ...I'm very happy!!

I've enjoyed the easy fit, the solid lock-down of the bolt-on process...at high speed...and, the bright, white finish....that takes on Eagle MicroWax so nicely.

To me....it was $570, including shipping, to Chicago...that was money-well-spent....and, a great group purchase opportunity.

BTW...What is the status of the "Team RamAir" labels?? Still waitin' on No#11:hail:

I was probably the second person to order my hood and i did use a credit card. First off, they called and told me that the web site got all my info but somehow my # was missing . I got in touch with Shawn and gave him my # after finding out what info he already had. Next thing was they lost the expiration date to the card, which was one of the things Shawn had told me they had, and repeated back to me. I gave them the date again after getting a message on my machine. There were two messages the next day and within a matter of three or four hours my name changed from Bobby Hoag to Robert Hoeg. Both packages arrived with the second name. I emailed them many times asking about the hood and most answers were vague to say the least and most times I didn't even get a reply. I received a tracking # yesterday (12th) and had already spoken with the trucking company two days before to set up a delivery, which just so happened to be the 12th, alot of good that # did.

In all I'm happy with the hood. It's made well, but I have yet to fit it to my car. The packing was very nice and the box was in good shape when I got it. They make a good product but need to get a little more organized. My experience with them was probably unusual, at least I hope so, and I just wanted to let other members know what they may be getting into. If you reread our posts alot of us have had problems. Hope you all enjoy the hoods. Later .

Z-ya-later(s)....That's a very cool screen name!!
Never eyeballed it till now?.....guess I'm too ol' a fart and too young a camaro afficianado to have picked up on "it" before...I think I saw where he ran into a brick wall...the only thing that survived was the RamAirHood....
Z-ya-later, when you're straighter!!....and....
thank goodness for Paypal....usually painless...altho I did suffer the week after ordering cause they lost the initial order.....Guess we just swamped them with good intentions!! And the shipping carton looked like it had been used in "forklift combat"....altho the hood itself was "as good as new"!

I put my hood on yesterday in preparation to take it to the body shop. It looks great even on my Z with a banged up front. The fit was decent, hard to really compare with your bumper cover and fender are fuct. The only thing I didn't like was the holes where the latch mounts in the front. I have to elongate the holes on the hand release thingie and one of the the thread inserts they used broke free and started spinning!!! That really pissed me off...

BTW, is it possible to retain the spring that "pops" the hood up...It doesn't look like it to me...Let me know what you all have done with that

I used that U shaped washer and the bolt hole that was provided. Just pinched the bottom of the spring against the hood. Worked great for me.

87--it takes some time to get it all takin apart, so yea it takes a while but once u've done it once its really easy from there...the worst part is takin the 2 nuts on each side inside the fender that are from the light bar connecting the bumper cover to the fender...but yea if ur lookin for somethin to do sometime and are really bopred try rippin it off...lol

well i better start learning lol my 88's has to come off for paint and my 87 has to come off because they replaced it with a 91-91 style which the fender pieces are skinnier and dont line up right being that i am a perfectionist with my car im getting a new bumper cover 85 - 90 style but keeping the 91 - 92 style air dam

So....old humble leader and purveyor of a Label marking the birth of a "Ram-Air Team" sticka.....I figure that at this moment we've been waitin' for the promised label, almost as long as the hood, itself.
bad act to follow, even tho one junior member is the culprit.

any comment from Fbirdta878787

I think they look pretty darn cool. I assume each one is going to have our names with the respective number. Correct? Great idea by the way!!:yourock:

Did anyone have a problem with their stock air intake box not fitting under the "ram air" hood?? I went up to the body shop this morning and my guy told me they had trouble getting it to fit under the hood!!! I called Ram Air Hoods and they said it should fit and they never had a problem before. Anyone else???

hmm i thought i replied to this, well here goes again, i had problem with mine fitting as well, even if i adjusted it up, it still hit the air box before it shut, one time someone slamed my hood and it shut, and i was suprised but its not good.....see if i can tinker with the adjustments, maybe put some shims in the bar on the hood. but i have the dual snorkel setup on my car, since i swaped from carb-tpi i had that problem, its just too tight of a fit and the underside of the hood has a reinforcement in the front and thats what it hits againste.....not sure what else i can think of to stop it from doing this.....
