255s don't rub, that's all I know, so I say go with those.

I have 245's in the front and 265's in the rear..

i think BFG Radials are the only ones in 265's

265's will rub, 255's won't. I have 16x8 255/50/16's and they work great. I had 265's on my 15x7's and they rubbed.

Keep in mind as you increase width, the height increases w/it, slowing down your speedo.

245/50 = 25.65" height, 9.1" width*
255/50 = 26.04" height, 9.7" width
265/50 = 26.43" height, 9.9" width

255/50's made my Camaro's speedo off by 5mph around 50 and have had no rubbing problems.

265/45 = 25.39", you could go with this size for widest on an 8" wide rim w/the least speedo accuracy problams. If it was possible to mount (?) 275/45 is an exact height match to the 245/50's.

You can check for yourself using this nifty webpage

255 is the distance in MM from one side of the tire to the other(including sidewall) and the 50 is the percentage(i think) that is on the sidewall. so going to 255 will change my speedo
