You shouldn't even be using a f-body in the snow, let alone z rated summer tires.. come on..

I'm not wasting money on a set of snow tires, because I'm getting a new set in the spring. That's why I've asked the question...come on

Generally summer Z-rated tires don't have the siping or tread pattern to support snow. So that means you won't be able to bite ice and the snow will build up and clog the tread making your tires very useless snowballs.

I had enough trouble trying to drive in the rain with those tires. My car always hydro-planed. The tires lasted a long time, but they weren't good for anything in the rain. I could imagine that snow would be worse.

Even with all-season tires you're going to slide all over the place. Summer tires is just plain stupid.
I managed to get through a winter on some 235 60 R15 Futuras on my 86 Sport Coupe. It was interresting to say the least. I had such a hard time moving from a stop that I'd get honked at constantly. The car was constantly sideways. If I was back home in the hills instead of in the flat Rochester area, I would have been completely screwed.
The same car with snow tires and 50lbs in the trunk was a frieking TANK. Tires make all the difference.

I tired it one winter with UltraZ's and it didnt work out too well. The past 2 winters I ran Pirelli 210 Snowsports and it was much better, partly because of the makeup and tread of the tire, and partly because my UltraZ's are 245's up front and 255's out back and they are way too wide for the snow. I think my winter tires were either 225s or 235s and it helped out a lot. Anyway, i have a daily driver now so no more snow for the IROC
