Crane camshaft identification

I want to buy a camshaft from a guy that says that it is a crane compucam 2032. He says that he took it off a crate engine.
My concern is that the cam does not have a number cast in in, but instead it says powermax 2032 that is written by hand with one of those tools to write on metal.
My question is: Do this cams come with this kind of writtings from the factory, or there has to be a number cast in it?
Thanks a lot for yur help.

Crane cam ID marking

The one I bought is marked with an electric pencil (vibro-peen) for the numbering. It's all by hand, not a fancy engraving machine or process. I've seen some other cams this way as well.

And of course, the Crane Powermax is the old Compucam line ( a rose by any other name is...)

I'll liik for a pic tonight if it would re-assure you. if in dought, have the cam measured for true events timing..

Just wanted to let you know that I took the cam to a shop to have it measured, and in fact, it is a crane 2032. I gess that that's the way they mark their cams.
Thanks Kevin

Glad you mesured it. Relieves all

questions. As it turns out, I've got pics from all ends and views of the cams I laid out, but the marked end glared with the flash. Cam is now installed, so not practical to take a new pic!
