I'm looking for some rear window louvers for a 1982 Z28 Camaro. I really want the aluminum type. No plastic.

Any idea on where to get these?

Generally, A single piece louver indicates a molded plastic component. Usually a 3 piece louver indicates one made from aluminum. It is best to ask beforehand. When i got mine a couple of years ago for my '83 T/A I just ordered it from the parts counter at my local speedshop.

I got the molded plastic single piece and was quite satisfied with it. I had an aluminum one on a 2nd gen T/A back in the 80's and was not all that impressed with it. But, to each his own.

IIRC, $245 last time I checked.

FYI - you won't spend 20 minutes w/ our CS. You call, you get a salesman on the phone. We do not have an automated directory like all the other places. I just wish we had more 3rd Gen parts.

Not bad. Sorry I assume CS is slow, its just usually a given. I also have a hard time saying no and might burn a hole in my credit card once on the phone.

I am sure it been done before but I wonder if the louvers add anything but looks. DO they help areo dynamics ir just look coo land shade the back window???

I have thought about getting a mirror tint on the back window as it lets in so much heat but you would lose some night time vision out the back.

Yes, they do a few things besides look good.

They prevent the rear window from frosting, keep the sun off things in your trunk and keep the carpet from fading, keep people from seeing what is in your trunk that they might want to steal.

Wernt or arnt lovers real easyto steal them self's??? I remember when they started coming with locks and other stuff to keep peope from walking off with them??? i am thinking 2nd gen I think though.
