Re: What are you guys engine running on??
I have always used Castrol GTX but will probably change as I have noticed more sludge than normal on my vehicles.
When I worked for a tree company they swapped to Royal Purple on all trucks and experienced much more oil burning compared to the dino oils except on trucks that started running Royal Purple on a very low mileage. They swapped back to dino oil in the higher mileage trucks.
For the filters after you understand what they say you can see that fram is for the most part a very poor choice. I have seen a Fram filter balloon up. Wix and Napa filters worked fine on the same engine.

It is a digital dash. So it goes to 60 and then off the chart so to speak.. It seems to be good.
I saw in some old maintenance records that he (my dad) requested that Slick 50 be put into into it. I kinda remember him having that done.
That being said is it ok to put synthetic oil in it?
Thanks

Re: What are you guys engine running on??
Hey guys I use 10w-30 Valvoline most of the time it's what all the shops in my town use basicly.
I've had good experience with Quaker (4x changes) an the car ran alot better an seemed not to get as hot... also my car didn't die out when I went 100+ mph... so im not sure if it's bad but it did take going over 100mph..
However the worst oil by far HAS to be Penzoil it is the shittiest oil by far i'd take walmart oil over it. I've changed numerous cars that ran Penzoil an everyone you can see the deposits flow out like it's never been changed before gunky!!
Also from person experiance I would say Synthetic oil made my Saturn leak so bad I had to replace the engine. As soon as I started the car after changing the oil 10 sec later it wouldn't stop leaking.
