Smog pump headers and Jet chip question

Smog pump headers and Jet chip question
Ok, I know that many have posted about smog pump removal and emissions legal headers, but my question varies a little.
I have been told that with my computer chip (Jet Stage 2) I need to keep all the emissions, or else it will not work right. I bought the car from a repair shop, and the guy said that if I need a sticker to come to him. So emissions testing is no problem.
Is there truth to the chip vs. emissions thing? I'd really like to know, as I want to remove the smog pump and get headers that don't cost $400+ dollars!

you need to ask this is the EXHAUST section..may get better answers...
