AIR Pump DELETE

I have recently removed all of my smog equipment. I replaced the belt with a 97 inch belt. I feel like now when the AC is turned on it drains the engine like crazy. It makes a aweful noise with going through the idle to 2200 rpm range. I was wondering if there is a dummy pully for this application like the one for the ac delete. Thanks guys

Yeah I already have removed the entire pump and all it's components. The only problem is that now when I turn on the a/c it feel like a major drain on the motor not to mention the *** aweful sound that it makes. I will check the belt routing though. Do you know if there is a replacement pully that I can put there though? Thanks again.

sorry i dont know of any dummy air pump pulley.

but i have heard of people gutting the inside of the pump and the pulley is still on bearings but not turning anything, u could try that.

sounds like maybe you have a a/c compressor problem or something else, if the belt is routing in the correct way then if shouldnt be a problems.

wow good find, but 10 hp i think is kinda stretching it, but anyway first time seeing that, and as for getting a smaller belt, i had to get a longer belt.

i am using the a/c delete pulley and no smog pump and its running great.

Guys thanks for all the help. So that Idler pully should bolt right in the place of the smog pump? If so that would rock. Thanks guys.

yep, it works great and you can use your existing belt setup so that's one less thing on the list of custom things to remember.

i bought mine through the dealer direct and paid 42. i'm selling mine for 30+ shipping in case no one can find one. i use to use gmpartsdirect although on some items like these you can pay for them and often times you won't recieve the item because they no longer carry them and haven't deleted them out of the system or some other excuse. just be careful.

I removed the airpump today, together with the airlines, plugged the holes with brass 1/4 plugs.
Here's my question: what should be done with the two electrical connectors that were on the black thing above the right valve cover?
Just tape them in and leave them?
I was afraid to get codes but it didn't!
