Anyone have the new AutoXray EZScan 5000 scanner?
This one:

I've used AutoXray products before with good results. I was thinking about buying an EZ Link Pro Pack but then I discovered their EZSCAN series. Does anyone have an EZSCAN unit, or have any experience with one? If so, let me know what you think. Thanks!!

Hey 'Jed', costing about 100 bucks more than the pro-pak it's not to bad of a deal.
If I had the extra cash I would probably go with it, but I've had the Pro Pak for over three years now. So I'm not going to run out and buy it anytime soon.
The one thing I do like about it, is the display...hmmm I might have to sale my pro-pak???![Big Grin](https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
BTW: shop around, cause I bought the pro-pak at checker auto for about $320 new...
Good Luck,
Ron

Hey Ron,
The prices on the AutoXray site are on the high end...I looked around online a bit and found it on several sites for $100 less. You'd think it would be less expensive if you purchased it directly from the manufacturer....guess not.
Yeah, the 8 line display was the first thing that caught my eye. I like the AutoXray scanner lineup but IMO the small 2 line display is a drawback. For me the larger display is worth the extra $$$. Plus it comes with the PC link cable and software, I think with the pro pak you have to buy the pc link seperately.....?
You could always call AutoXray and ask if they have an exchange/upgrade program for their new units.
Later,
Jed

Yea, I had to buy the PC-Link seperatly, and I had to buy that directly from them
... I also bought the enhanced obdii from them! They better give me some good credit towards the newer unit!
I just might give them a call soon![Smilie](https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)

I don't have the 5000 but I do have the 6000. It's seems to be a very good tool for a small shop or home user. I've used the combersome(yet more complete) OTC Genesis and the Snap-On scanners and compared to those it's missing a few features but unless you are doing lots of work on 96 up GM or alot of odd Chrysler stuff you will love this tool. Updates are a snap too. If you haven't already purchased one(I know this thread is old) check out http://www.handsontools.com . They have some really good prices on their scanning equipment.
