b&m trickshift synthetic

What do you guys think? Is the stuff worth the price? I use mobile one in my tranny, which has a fresh rebuild, and is the 700r4. Would the synthetic trickshift help me any, or is it not worth the price? I think it is between 3 and 5 dollars a bottle...

Thanks...

Its about 5-6 dollars a bottle here, and no, I would stick with the mobil one. I never had any good experiences with the stuff, it seems to eat more things than save.

I run the Mobil1 synthetic ATF and my trans actually runs cooler on the gauge.

The Trickshift uses an abrasive to make the tranny clutches grab a bit better. Its good for the shifting but horrible on the hard parts. Save yourself some trouble and use a good ATF instead.

that stuff is total **** dont use it. my brother put it in his trans and it made it slip horribly. then we put some quaker state atf in there and it works great. if you do put it in there only put in one quart with your change otherwise you are wasting your money.

It is amazing on what people will actually put in their trannys and what they will spend on it. B&M Trick Shift is nothing more than Type-F fluid with an extra additive to make it grab even harder. If you only plan to use your car in running the 1/4 this is acceptable BC it does cause extemely hard shift actions. Some believe it causes extra wear on hard parts depending who you ask, do not run this stuff in daily driven cars that are gonna see alot of miles. Synthetics are a double edged sword. They dont break down, you can leave em in longer, and they can bring temps down. Synthetics are also very very very slippery and yes parts inside your trans are designed to grab so synthetics actually cause premature wear under hard driving conditions. What does all this mean???

If you are gonna spend all your time at the track run straight Castrol Type-F, this is what anything from B&M or TCI products are based on but doesnt have the extra additive that can cause too much bite. Hughes Performance Transmissions who dont make their own fluid recomend Castrol Type-F in just about every application they build transmissions for, from street to strip to towing and recomend a standard fluid change every 15000 miles and a full flush and change every 30000 miles. This conclusion comes from countless hours of tranny dyno testing with just about every product on the market, per their tech support

On recomendation from my builder I plan to run 2qts of redline synthetic and the other 10 or so qts of Castrol Type-F as I will see some highway miles. My 700R4 will have a full strip rebuild and have a Vigilante 9.5 inch 3200rpm stall attached to it. I will never run all synthetic or touch the Trick Shift.

My .02

Depends on your driving style. Syn wont hurt a daily driver that doesnt see a bunch of track abuse. Its more like just the opposite from what I have heard, not good to run it in a car where the trans gets banged on alot.
