TCI stall converters
Heard they are a good ticket, it's not for my 85 Z but for my 69BB...I'm thinking on geting TCI 2500 stall (11")
Any feedback on this converter would be apreciated...also, is it a good Idea to run more than 2500 stall on the street?

I don't know anything about TCI, but my Vigilante is a 2700 and is very streetable with 3.73 gears.

Got a question with putting a new stall converter in my 700R4 do you have to switch anything internally in thr tranny. Also I have a TCI torque converter lock up kit on my car which locks up 4 gear cause i dont have my computer hooked up to my car do i use a lock up stall converter or a non lock up

i have 2 tci converters and love them both. one in my 87 ta which is a 8 inch powerglide converter. now thats a little big to drive on the street seeing how it stalls to about 5 grand. but the other is a super street fighter that stalls around 3400 rpm. and it is street driven almost daily. and no problems from either converter in 2 years.

I've had 2 TCs, one being a TCI Saturday night Special(or was it the Street Fighter?) that was 2200 stall lockup, it was a good Converter for a 700R4.
Now the current Converter I use is a nonlockup 2200-2400 due to the fact my tranny was rebuilt into a Turbo 700(nonluckup conversion). I also use the Billet Servo, which keeps the shifts from turning into a slush-box.
Both are very streetable converters with 3.27 gears, but I highly reccomend using an aftermarket Servo to keep your shifts from degrading.

Thanks for the imput guys...I ordered the 11" converter (2500 stall) and it'll go in my TH400...oh yea one more thing, the 2500 rating is rated at a given torque, now in theory, with more torque, it should stall a bit higher right??
