best handling 15" tires
right now I have 235/60 radial t/a's, and they seem to provide fairly decent straight-line traction, but the handling sucks *** . They're getting pretty worn, and I'd like to upgrade to a slightly lower profile tire to improve my handling. Anyone have experience in this area?
Thanks,
Brandon

I know your pain! The problem is there aren't many performance tires made in 15" that are wide enough to get the profile down and still suit the look of the car. If you want good Z rated tires you are pretty much stuck with 225/60. Yokohama make a 235/60 in their AVS intermediate. There is a 245/50 Euro TA made by BFG which is H rated but I think they look a bit small on thirdgen. Otherwise to get low profile you are going to have to go to 265 or 275/50 and put up with BFG, Goodyear or Dunlop low perforamnce tires. All IMHO of course

I had that same problem. Check out the yoko's AVS intermediates. Awesome tire even in 15" sizes. They come in everything up to like 285 or 295 for 15" rims. Don't ask me why, I don't know anyone with 15x12 rims.
I just checked tire rack and the intermediates come up to 235's and then they jusmp to 345's. Sorry, I thought they had some more sizes in between.

Dunlop SP8000's come in 245/50-15, about $120 each from Tire Rack. That's what the 'bu is wearing now and it sticks pretty good.
