Aftermarket Product Review: Trick Flows and MIni Ram - Track Tested.

'91 Z28: ZF6 Corvette 6-speed, ZZ4 bottom end, Generation 1 Twist Wedge Trick Flow heads, Mini Ram, ZZ409 cam, 1.6 RRs, Accell 58mm TB, 24# SVOs, Edelbrock TES crap, etc... etc...

Best Run spinning pretty bad and granny shifting (had a 2 hour drive home):

Reaction: .879 (not my best)
I1: 1.954
I2: 5.456
I3: 8.342
MPH: 84.398
E.T.: 12.829
MPH: 111.818

I have a set of SLP 1 3/4 inch headers that I will put on it one day. That should help... 113 mph??

The car would have hit 12.6s with someone who knows how to drive it.

---------------------------

I also took my '94 Corvette LT1/A4 which is bone stock and has 2.59 gears in it.

Reaction: .579
I1: 2.023 (best was 2.014)
I2: 5.780
I3: 8.882
MPH: 79.705
E.T.: 13.733
MPH: 102.288

Hey ZBRA, how does that engine idle with the ZZ409 cam? Is it streetable?
Are you still running The 3.23 gears?
If your still spinning real bad maybe you need to tighten up the suspension some more? I didn't notice if you have a adjustable torque arm in it but you 60' times look good.
All in all I think you did a super job!
Wish I was doing 12's .

Thanks. The ZZ409 idles perfect. You can hear a little lope to it, but it doesn't stumble or surge at all. I have a custom made chip, and even then I had to get the idle screw and fuel pressure just right to make it idle right. As far as streetable, it runs like it's stock and gets mid 20s MPG on the interstate. Sucks gas in town though, but that is probably my fault.

BTW: My prom is still programmed for the Super Ram, LPE 219/219, and 700R4.

I changed over to 3.73s. I have only hit 1.9 60 foots with the ZF once. I haven't tried many times though. I have the Jegs Torque arm which is not adjustable. I did buy an angle finder when I put it in. It is at the same angle as the stock arm, so I am comfortable with it as is.

Later.
