whats the best performance parts for a budget?

i am saving up my money and am going to buy an intake manifold and some headers. i have a 600 cfm performer edelbrock carb on right now so what is the best manifold and headers?? and i plan on buying on ebay (cheapest way to go) so what should i look for?? my engine is a 305, pretty sure its not the original, and also on the manifolds i look at they say for non-egr and egr, how do i know what i have?

hooker makes good headers (replaces exhaust manifolds), they are good for the money spent....

run a search in the exhuast board for more info..

also look into hedman headers

since you have a edelbrock carb look into their intake mainfolds..

Don't forget one of the best things to do before you start modding - a good tune up. If your car is in top tune, I'd go for the intake/exhaust mods first, as they are relatively inexpensive and will benefit all your future mods.

Z-Rated, Don't want to spoil your fun.....but nos is a great way to blow your engine if your not set up for it. I know several people that ran nos (and hatd it professionally installed) who blew the motor in 3 shots. Now, that's a little expensive if ya ask me. I'd definitely go exhaust, take off emissions stuff, if you can pass inspection without it.

So, would Zex or NX be safe

I'd get a Weiand Stealth intake, and some Hooker headers. What kind of cat-back do you have? stock?
