Perma Cool Electric fan / thermal sensor

I spent a good portion of a saturday two weeks ago wiring up my Perma Cool 14" fan i just bought. I bought it because it was rated at 2,950 cfm and because perma cool offers a 20 dollar thermal switch that will automatically turn your fan on at 170 degrees. well i hooked it all up, ran the motor to 170 degrees, nothing. hm, check all connections, this time i ran it to 200 degrees, still nothing. i bipass the switch with my 12 volt wire and boom, fan roars to life. this thermal switch was a piece of crap, i guess my friend tried one and couldnt get it to work for him either (woulda been nice to know $20 ago lol). i guess my upper radiator hose just didnt get hot enough for it or the thing was factory defective. oh well, just sharing this experience so nobody else gets the same headache.
