Dakota Digital or all Auto Meter
I have a dilema here. I just did a motor swap and am upgrading everything. I have a limited budget (thus what happens when you have to work for everything lol) and I have 2 options. I need Fuel PIS, Oil PSI, Water temp, a new tach and a new speedo. (not to mention any additional gauges I need) Dakota Digital makes a pretty nice setup for my 84 camaro. $549 I think the price is. It includes almost everything I need. But I dont know what would be better, to go with the Digital Setup or just get autometer everything. Have any of you used the digital gauges? How reliable are they? thanks for the input.

I much prefer mechanical gauges to any kind of electronic ones, especially digital. My wife's S10 Blazer came with a digital dash and almost none of it works anymore, and it's difficult to find spare parts for.
I use Auto Meter (mechanical) gauges in my 92RS and my 70 Nova SS. Very reliable and accurate.
If you absolutely must have digital gauges Dakota Digital are probably the best. A lot of street rodders use them and I haven't really heard any complaints about them. I just prefer the reliability of mechanicals.

Yeah I prefer mechanical to digital too, but price also plays a factor in it. Gauges aren't cheap these days. I am sure there are lots of people that easily spent over a grand on gauges alone. Like I said, I am on a budget But I do prefer the look of a good set of gauges. Thanks for your input thought.
