Aftermarket Exhaust and Emissions?

Aftermarket Exhaust and Emissions?
I heard from a mechanic (I really think this guy knows what he's talking about) Anyway, I was talking about systems like borla, and he said there is a computer that reads the backpressure and kicks on the emissions equipment. He said that will borla, it decreases the backpressure and the emissions doesnt kick on or kicks on late causing you to fail the state test. I just spent $1000 on emissions, so Id like to not fail (I have another test in 6 months). Any exhaust systems that will give a nice rumble when Im pushing it hard, but stay quiet at idle? and will it pass emissions?

I've never heard of anything that can "read" backpressure on the car.
I think he's pulling your leg.
As a smog tech I can tell you that we (in CA) don't care what is AFTER the cat.
You can run straight pipe out the back if you want, as long as the cat is there.

I'm not sure I understand the question.
