Heated 3 wire oxygen sensors??

I ve come to the conclusion that i need a heated 3 wire oxygen sensor, mainly cause of my exhaust work. I also live in a cold climate and dont want to run the risk of running the motor cold. Ive tried Summit,Autozone and nappa and none of these stores even heard about a heated 3 wire oxygen sensor. I saw one in TPIS but i think $72.00 w/shipping is a little bit too much. Does anyone know of a place that might sell these oxygen sensors.

I have been looking for one also. The price at TPIS does not sound bad. Since Lingenfelter wants over a $100.00 for one. Can not find one at any store around here.Is the one from TPIS a Bosch?

It should be less than $75. the biggest problem is connecting it to your system. GM has used several 3-wire sensrs and there are several companies offering aftermarket 3-wire sensors (Edelbrock, Holley, etc) so you'll have to get a sensor and go to the parts store to get a matching 3-prong connector, as you should not have one now. THen, hook up the signal, ground and switched power wires correctly and GO FOR IT. I must say I have found that 1-wire GM sensos (ie ruck) are fine for 99.9% of apps and heat up just fine. Yeah, it might take 90 seconds instead of 23 seconds, but the ECM doesn't care! You only need a 3-wire if you live in Alaska all year long or your O2 sensor is about 4 feet beyond the header/manifold collector.

I had a lot of problems last season with running rich so anything that gets it out of rich condition quicker is good for me. I put one on my car.
$60 from Auto Zone. They didnt have a 3 wire harness but TRAX sent me one. Said they sell them at pep boys (dont have one around here). The black wire is the signal wire. this will hook to the wire that runs from your ECM. The other 2 wires it does not matter what configuration you hook them as long as one goes to ground and the other goes to an ignition source. For now Ive just got mine plugged into the fuse box. It works but is not the cleanest install.

Good luck.

I just bought mine last nite. 58 bucks at AutoZone. I just cut off the 3 prong connector and hooked it up to another 3 wire cable by twisting the wires toghther. I hooked it up to the fan relay on the firewall. It works just fine

I must be some kind of lucky guy. Both my 86 and 91 camaro have the 3 wire o2 sensor already. Previous owner must have installed it.

Are those heated o2 sensors supposed to warm enough that you can feel it with your hand?

I bought and installed bosch 3-wire sensor, and I ran heat element wire to the fuel pump relay terminal A (the hot one when ign on), but it still feels cold when I ie. turn ign on for awhile.

The BOSCH 13077 is what I have used for 3 years now. ADVANCE AUTO has them for <$50. HTH's

EDIT: I ran mine to a seperate 10 AMP fused IGNITION CIRCUIT. It will burn you when the element is hot, if hooked up correctly. Just make sure that YOU NEVER TOUCH THE BLACK WIRE WITH ANY POWER SOURCE this wire is the sensor output, and will fail if this should happen.
